After your initial enquiry, you will receive an introduction pack and be given a start date for your 'Basic Training'.

The basic training is known as Bloodhound Flight and lasts for 8 weeks. During this time you will be introduced to the skills needed to be a cadet with 222 (Broadlands) Sqn. It is also during this time you will be measured for your uniform.

Your instructors will initially be Sgt(ATC) Chris Brand and Sgt(ATC) Mark Powley, though to you they will be known as 'SERGEANT'!

A typical enrollment parade.
Issued with a pair of Olive Green Coveralls you will begin your training. You will learn about the history of the 'Corps' and 'Royal Air Force', Leadership, Drill, Airmanship and Radio Communication. These skills will allow you to take part in activities with the Squadron, Wing or even Region.

Towards the end of the 8 weeks, you will be issued your 'Blues' ready for an enrolment parade and your official recognition as a cadet and member of 222 (Broadlands) Squadron. This is a formal occasion involving the entire Squadron and allows the new cadets parents to see their son/daughter show off their new skills.
